It's just that I read about alot of jeeps running 4l60e's behind 6.0l and not having a problem... but that's just it I've read about it, I wanted to hear from people who actualy ran it or who's friends have ran one. On another note if I did run an lq4 woundn't I have to change the flex plate and trans plug for the 4l60,4l65? I thought I read that the Lq4 came witha different plug for the trans , the 4l80e?
You could try running a stock 700 or 60E on the cheap and see how it holds up. If you're gonna buy a built trans for a big chunk of change you might as well start off with a 4L80E. Hell, even a stock 80E will hold up to more abuse than most built 60Es.

LQ4s were available in lots of different configurations and transmissions. Depending what it's out of it may have a flexplate and wiring for either trans. My LQ4 is out of an 04 H2 and has a 4L60E flexplate, but my buddy got one out of an 04 Silverado HD and it's got the 4L80E flexplate. I think it was available with either trans in the work vans too.
