It has been a long time since I did it but IIRC I undid the motor mounts and raised the engine putting some chunks of 2x4 between the motor mounts. Drop the pan then loosen all of the main bearing bolts, remove rear main cap push old half of seal out of block with new seal install other half in main cap retorque all of the bearing cap bolts and put everything back together. Disconnect battery cable as I seem to remember something about engine cranking over when I jacked it up.
