Just to clear things up a little bit,

If the ORV is equipped with an approved roof [ rollbar ect ] and the operator and passengers are wearing properly adjusted and fastened safety belts, they will NOT need to wear a helmet.

Any person who is under the age of 16 years old must posses a valid ORV safety training certificate and be under the direct visual supervision of an adult while operating.

*Where to look for safety classes?
Be VERY careful when selecting an ORV Safety Instructor off the DNR's website. Only a handfull of those listed ORV instructors on the DNR website have the training to even remotely be classified as a competant Instructor, most dont even own a ORV. If you and your youth really want to walk away from the ORV safety class with a hell of alot more information than you walked thru the door with, seek your training class from
