She obviously has no outdoor experience.
Anyone with some experience would make sure they had more than they needed,
food, water, the map and a compass.
She did not and that is not the scenario here.
Having one other person in this particular scenario means food and water
run out that much faster and would probably have meant more fatalities.
It is called death valley for a reason.
