shoot alot more. maybe 50 images of the moon over 1/2 hr. I just got back from Wyoming and our campsite overlooked a small gorge w/ mountains in the distance. I have over 100 sunset shots from one night.
Then, weed them out until you have 2 or 3 of the best ones. You will be surprised how much a landscape changes as you study it over a period of time.

Dont worry about getting a better camera. The one you have will allow you to produce some beautiful photography. Just use it. Wear it out. A camera is no different than a paint brush. It's the talent behind the camera that makes the shot, not the camera itself.
