IMO... your best bet is to get on a department in your hometown.... Let them get you through FF1/2 and at LEAST your MFR, which is required..... Then, you can take bridge classes, to get your EMT. Then, in a few years, after you have proved yourself, you can begin the application process at other FDs. It will most likely take a while. I don't know of any full timers that have gotten on with zero experiance. They all had some somewhere, be it as a Paramedic, EMT or a FF on another dept.
