I was skeptical about it due to where the article was posted, but its getting a lot more press today - NT Times, National Geopraphic, History Channel... Just generally interesting, regardless. It even made the Google homepage logo and is on display at rhe American Museum of Natural History in New York at the moment.
The scientific name is kind of funny, though: Darwinius masillae.
The google logo looked like a squashed turd with a monkey on it. I hadn't seen the news yet though
