Default New tow rig

Got my new tow rig last week. 99 GMC 3500.

The Good
454
tires with < 3500 miles
very few digs and scratches
runs great
rides and runs great
Never been crashed (that i could tell from paint)
8' bed

The Bad
11ish miles per gallon
small ugly tires
previous owner smoked
Band aid brown color

Question
Towed the sleds up north last weekend, two on a small two place trailer and got 11.2 mpg, i am getting 11.0 mpg empty city driving. Seems reasonable for a big block. It has an aftermarket flow through style muffler but thats the only thing not stock on it. Any way to get a little better milage? thinking of maybe looking for a programmer or something along that line. Tried a K&N in my last truck, got no increase in milage and it clogged the mass air sensor so not really into trying that again. This will be my DD till spring when I can work on the 1500
