if it's running too lean (backfiring on top end) do a plug check, run it at high rpm's and shut it off, pull the plugs and if they are white, or light tan, bump the mains one size at a time till they are a medium - dark brown, and you have no more backfiring on top end, you can also screw in your air mixture screws in the winter because the air is more dense.
