While I agree with you that they shouldn't be floating around the streets, do you understand that criminals are criminals for a reason? Even if legislation is put in place to keep "assault weapons" off the streets, this crime could have just as easily been carried out with a 12ga shot gun....the point is, if the guy wanted to kill the kid, he could have done it irregardless of his weapon choice.....
1) You cant fire off 30 rounds through a shotgun in a matter of seconds.
2) Any gun is meant to kill. That is its sole purpose of existence. Killing is not the purpose of rope. That is why it is an unfair comparison.
