Why would you WANT to pay more taxes, ESPECIALLY for health care. Health care costs should be tax deductible like most of your other living expenses. There's a reason health savings accounts are taken from pre-tax earnings.

Why on earth would you want to pay more taxes? You want to fork over more money to a government that has proven they don't know how to spend the money they have?

Your argument is rather silly, we should be going the other direction - Joe who makes 120k, gets taxed on 120k, but spends 20k towards insurance should be able to write that off as a deduction. Probably already can, or at least partially. Needs to be done in a way that doesn't encourage employers to drop coverage though.
