First of all, you can't characterise all Christianity as Roman Catholic. That is a denomination of Christianity that is still very traditional. And if you can see truth in each of these, I would say your view of true Christianity is very distorted.
Second, what do you mean Christianity isn't innocent? Thats a bizare statement when you think about it. Some of the people that claim to follow Christianity have done some stupid things that go AGAINST the teachings of Christianity, but Christianity itself is not the cause of these terrible acts. Its people who have distorted the truth and in many cases used it as a weapon to enslave others. You could say the same thing about any train of thought or any religion.
Christianity brings freedom, not slavery. Its a relationship with God, not a bunch of rules to follow.
