Maybe I'm missing something, but the avalanche comes in an 2500 version with the 8.1L. So why can't they put the Dmax in there? Someone once told me the Allison will hit the floor pan...then use the floor from the trucks. Is making something existing fit harder than developing a whole new motor for a single application?
They put like a 2" body lift on the trucks with the allison. Thats why those trucks show more frame than the 1/2 tons.
Yes there are diesel H3s in development. Not for the US though.
