depends on the price. If you wanted to you could put in a ford 8.8 for around $450 with disk brakes and 4.10 gears.
The ford 8.8 is in many ways superior axles to the d44.
d35 suck but they will hold up to mild wheeling and do just fine as a daily driver of course.
what size tires did you want.
Did you think of buying it with the intention of swapping in an 8.8 if/when you wreck the d35. If you never wreck it your golden and saved money on the 8.8
What ever you do just dont put any more additional money into a D35
