Whenever I Pull In My Driveway My Tires Look Perfect And Straight Up And Down. But When I Back In My Driveway They Look Like They Are Leaning Inward At The Top Of The Tire???????????? Its A 4x4 Truck If That Helps. What Is My Problem??????ball Joints Tie Rods Maybe??? Let Me Know What You Think. Thanks
Well I assume your truck has independent front suspension. This means your wheels lean while the suspension compresses and decompresses. As compared to a straight axle setup like the rear. My guess is your driveway has a bit of slope to it. So when you are backed in there is more weight on the front end, slightly compressing the suspension and causing the lean you see. If its leaning alot then something could be screwed up and we will need more info about how it drives, the year etc.
with the TTB or twin I beam ( however you say it ) i would say its normal because wen you park with your front end facing down a little there more weight on the nose of the truck , is there any wear on the inside of the front tires ? if not id say theres nothing to worrie about
When you back up the tires fight each other and the steering wants to "walk up" the susp travel. If you look the left tie rod connects to the right side damn near center of the truck. Same concept as when you lift the ttb and do not use a drop pitman arm you get death wobble.
For the most part its normal, but having your toe out out of spec can make it appear worse.
yeah the front tires wore towards the inside. I was told this is normal. and i was told there is something wrong with it. Guess i better get it lo ked at. thanks
Have a shop check your front end and alignment. Simple as that. Everyone has different thoughts but the first thing to do would be have a shop check it out. My 1990 F-250 with ttb always drove straight with normal tire wear. But then again I own my own shop so it should be straight.
I know what his concern was. That was directed to the guy who said they always wear tires and the other guy that said he needed the alignment done 4 times. A good alignment that is done right or the suspension being done right, will fix that. My point is ttb does not have to wear tires and in my case it didn't, nor did I go through ball joints like people say.
Yes my shop is on the corner of Whitehall Rd & West River.
I totally agree, If somebody doesn't understand how a ttb works then they have no business touching one when it comes to an alignment.....I get stuck with ALL my shops TTB's and TIB's
Superlift has this steering system to help fix the problem.
.............I have close to 200,000 mile on my ttb,...........no tire wear, but I take care of it.
