I like to share what I am doing, like to take pictures, and I don't know about you guys, but I love lookin at em too.

SO here is my build, It is well underway, but here is the cut and pasted to date version.

So here goes, a 93 X cab, 4.0, 5 speed, Booger green as my Wife and kids call it, that is where the name comes from. A 6" suspension lift via rough country drop brackets, 6" skyjacker coils in the front and a chevy 63", 7" shackel and I replaced the factory lift block with a lift block, same height but had correction in it for pinion angle. And a 2" body lift....

At this point it was still serving DD and weekend wheeling duties, I was running 35's with 4.88 gears, trac lock rear, open front. It did pretty good, but I was ready to start making some changes....then this happend 6/18/10

So at that point it was time to come up with a new plan. I have already been wanting to do a SAS with my EB D44 so I figure there is no better time than now.

So the hunt began for a new "parts" truck that I could use the frame, front clip and a few other parts from. I decided I wanted to shorten my wheel base so I started looking for a regular cab truck. With just under a week of looking I found this beauty, a 93 4 poper flatbed

She's cute huh? Good shape in all the right spots. Runs like a top, drove it home and I only gave $450 for it....gonna part it out to get some of my money back.

So the plan is to use that frame, use my X cab and that front clip. As far as the bed goes, maybe a bob, maybe a truggy. All my motor and trans are going on the 2wd frame....should be a fun truck.

Anyways, on for the progress, got my 44 in the garage and started the tear down

Then I started to order SAS parts....got a set of Fox 16" air shocks coming, a few heims, picked up my 2" OD X.250 tube to extend the radius arms and some 1.250" OD X.250 tube from my track bar and drag link. Ordered some 4.88 gears today and some 7* radius arm bushings. I am going to go a pick up my disk brake set up for my 44 sometime soon too. I got lots of work to do!

Here are some pictures of the my smashed truck...

Got out and did some wheeling today with CheapthrillsB2...I am sore! But it was fun and felt good to be out again.

Had some damage, broke a shaft and hub, smoked the clutch pretty good but all in all, it was worth it. Here are a couple pictres and videos

the end where I break...

Ha ha ha....at the end (at about 3:50), "you've got about 2 minutes left of video" what he really meant was, "your stubshaft is only gonna last about 20 more seconds":teehee: Not to mention, the encouraging laughter of Al.

Some parts showed up today, my chromoly inners to go with my outer, an a pillar gauge pod for my oil pressure and water temp gauges, and got 3 spicer 760x joints so I will have a spare. And luck would have it I happen upon a good deal on a Dana 60 so I might start a 1 ton/v8 swap at the same time...

LOL, yup! Shit or get off the pot!

Picked up my 87, dulley 60 yesterday. Pretty happy with it. Now I just need to either sorce some wheels with the right offset or get some standard hubs to swap the dulley hubs.

Looks like I have a lot of work infornt of me....gearing/building 2 more axles, engine swap, bed dovetail, fuel cell.....I can't wait!

Yeah you are probably right. I am kinda already planning on swapping because I don't want my truck much wider than it is now. And I want to run the same rim/beadlock combo I am now but in 8 lug and either 16" or 17" rim, soft 8's. Nothing fancy yet.

Well, tore the truck down today , I destroyed 2 more caps on the drivers side and my outer chromo on the passenger side is pretty messed up too. Ordered a new one, maybe I can get the old Yukon warranted? Good news, looks like my locker took the beating too so no need to do anything with that.

I think I am going to adjust my steering stops, looks like the joints are binding/hitting a little maybe that is the reason I am breaking caps everytime out.

glad you went and got that 60..now get it in there and stop waisting money on that 44.

Got my truck back together today, full chromoly front now with spicer 5-760x joints. I also tacked all the caps along with full circle clips. While putting it together I noticed my other good hub was broke too. So I put my drive flanges in, hope they hold, I'm out of spares LOL. So note to self, warn premium hub don't hold up too well for my set up, try something else next time. Lets go wheeling!

Did some dinking around today on the truck, installed my gauges, then put the mustang steering wheel in...It goes good with the shifter knob. Ready to go wheel it, I feel pretty good.

I also wired the high speed side of my fan direct with a switch incase it starts getting warm I can flip it on, and as a back up if the fan controler acts up like last time out and the fan doesn't come on. I was gonna buy a fancy controller but after buying a 60 I figured it could wait....lol

Pictures

I beat this side up pretty good, few new dents in the box, one big one under the rear window and the front fender

Messed up my fairlead and mount

This side I just dinked up the box a little more, thank got for my sliders, I used them a lot today.

Broke window

Drive shaft was put to the test....pass

Beat up leaf hanger

Then I noticed my leafs are getting fubared, might have to change them when I swap to tons, then install my antiwrap bar.

and here is another video, the one I really tested my truck on. I hope someone else got a better angle, this one doesn't show the rocks too well and it is long yet, not too good at editing but most of it is good.
