i just bought this welder it welds poor at best

highest setting will not burn 1/16

gun and ground in correct recepticals
voltage selector set to 230 not 208 (also tryed 208 setting no luck)
power at plug 240
power at switch in welder 240
power after switch(with gun trigger pulled) 235

checked all 4 diodes all have continuity in only 1 direction as needed
load tested 4diodes all check fine what could be my problem? what am i missing?

has spool gun unused polarity is good(tryed it wrong also)
also the gas is on and flowing well

it acts as if its welding "cold"
i dont think its a gound problem etheir you stike the wire on the clamp and it barley sparks.

I would be looking at the circut you have it on. if its a 240 volt how many amp is it? sounds like you need a 50 amp circut if you have it wired for a 30 amp. it would run but very weak. secondly check your cord to chassie connections. it could also be an issue.
if by chance yours has electronic channels to switch between try changing channels. I noticed on a couple of our millers they have bad channels and won't run a start cycle and the wire burns back into the tip on the first trigger pull.
