To avoid potential Palace traffic problems:

- I-96E to I-696E to I-75N to University Dr. (Big Buck Brewery exit, just past DCX).
- At light at the end of the University Dr ramp, turn left onto University Dr. West.
- Go over highway. 1st light will be the southbound I-75 ramp. At 2nd light (Speedway on left), turn right onto Opdyke Rd. North.
- Hoops will be on your left approx 1.5 miles? If you reach the Palace, you just passed it. There are many U-turn points, so don't worry.

You can continue up I-75 to the Palace exit (which will dump you on Opdyke), then go south on Opdyke no more than 1/2 mile to Hoops, but you could get jammed up there depending on what is happening at the Palace.

Its also possible to get off I-96E at M-59 out by Howell and take M-59 all the way across to Opdyke Rd. at the Silverdome. It is the shorter, direct route and based on the time of day, this *might* actually be better since all the traffic will be going West and you'll be travelling East. However, M-59 has traffic lights the whole way and I have no idea if there is any ongoing or unfinished construction since I have been gone for so long.

I now live fairly close to the palace, used to live down by 696, I would definately take Harley's directions, I think it is roughly the same travel distance, maybe a few less miles, but way less trafic, even if there is Palace traffic the lawst few miles, it wouldn't be half the traffic of 696 from 96 to 75, then add typicle traffic of 75 from 696 all the way to the palace (which is also bad)...

yeah, about 1.5 hours 69 to 75

about 2+ hours 96-696-75

there isn't a Piston's game at the Palace, but there is a holiday concert... Trans Siberian Orchastra starts at 8, don't know what traffic would be like for that.

OH YEAH, if you check a mapping software, it ussually says to take I96 to M59 across to pontiac, DON'T DO IT, M-59 is slow moving and this will take longer then either of the other ways...
