Family Friendly Sign Language Courses near St. Clair or Macomb County?

This is a serious question. Does anyone know of a family oriented and reasonably priced sign language course near St. Clair or Macomb Counties?

The reason I ask is because my girlfriend is legally deaf. She wears hearing aids currently that allow her about 30% hearing on a good day. She has a degenerative condition that will most likely leave her completely deaf at some point in the future.

She is an excellent lip reader but that only goes so far. And she can only finger spell and do some basic sign, as she has only had this condition since she was 13, not birth.

Between us we have 6 kids ages 5-14 and in the last 6 months have become our own little brady bunch. We would like to start classes as a family so we can learn this valuable communication tool. Online searches have proven useless, as most courses are adult only. This is something we would like to do together.

Does anyone have any ideas, links, suggestions?

Instead of attending a place with that many people, maybe you could contact someone teaching these adult only classes and ask if they do side work and will come to your house. Take an add out on Craigslist as well.

All they recommend is the local community college courses, which do not allow small children. As far as we can tell, the thinking seems to be: Deaf Child - put in special school, Deaf Adult - take college courses and teach your own damn kids.

We live in Marine City! Is there any program here at all? I didn't even think about woodland, although they would be more of a daytime thing I think. We would be more of a evenings/weekend group.

As for the other suggestions guys, thank you and keep them coming! I'll be looking into them!
