whats the hell is this

im looking at my brother and laws 78 ford pick up 3/4 ton 4wd, on the front axle there is a steering stabilizer almost but with 2 lines going to it. what is it i know it leaks like a bitch. id guess it has to do with the power steering seeings that it has the p/s lines going to it. let me know i need one.thanks

thats a power control valve assemblly. if you had the older one it has the sensor valve seperate in the middle of the drag link. their a bitch to repair. if you can find a rebuild unit and install it, if you've never repaired one don't try.

Yes they are hard to find. I only have one and can't let it go because I use it to teach with.

You might want to look into converting it to a regular saginaw box.

just to clue you in on prices. the sensor valve alone is around $700. so if you can afford that then I would convert to a newer system. loads less problems too.
