The league has been pushing for some time. The Union has been blocking them.
This headline stems from a first baby step. Its not a test, but each player will have to do a blood sample, those will all be taken and checked, to build up a catalog of whats out there.
This is because the Union contends that maybe due to all the muscle/workouts, their normal background level of HGH will be higher in players who don't take it somehow, compared with all the background data from other sports.
The union just keeps trying to block anyway they can.
Now commence all the GL4x4 NFL bashing because they make more money than us.
Hehe, we were talknig the other day at work, they should come up with some sport, where its the opposite of all the various pro and amateur sports. In this <whatever bloodsport is selected>, these guys would be steroided out of their minds. We all know we can't turn away.
I say who cares. What is cheating really anyway, what's the criteria. I think that's the discussion they should be having in the media.
Is it anymore cheating than taking unnatural levels of protein and vitamins and other workout supplements? Is it anymore cheating than working out or practicing seven days a week while your competitor does five days a week? Should all the kids who take Adderall in college to study be expelled for cheating?
For the record I think people who take steroids are dumb, unless maybe you have millions of dollars to gain from it.
I think the biggest concern is that some no name, league minimum, juiced up lineman can end the career of your $20mil/year franchise quarterback with one hit these days.
I've heard downhill mtn bike riding is one of the biggest usergroups.
Truthfully, I don't care either way. I just find it humorous that they try and pretend they are angels. Like others said, if the bicyclists are doping for the small money they can make, then why wouldn't mainstream pro athletes.
What the fukc did I just watch, for 9 mins and 48 seconds.. I must be bored.:sonicjay:
