Mounting Harnesses

My rig (exo'd 85 Toyota pickup) came with Corbeau seats and 5 point harnesses....seats are on the factory mounts, lap belts use factory attachment points and shoulder belts are mounted through the cab to the cage

I am new to anything other than factory belts but inmy head this set up seemed ok. However it was brought to my attention that this is not a good setup because in a hard role if the cab came off i would be tied to the cage and could get crushed buy the belts.....this too also makes sense so....

Looking for some additional advise....is the way they are mounted good? Bad? Why?......if i need to change them how should they be mounted?

That makes sense....but what i am having trouble with is this.....even if i went through and mounted the seats and lap belts to the frame (essentially part of the cage since it is welded together....correct?) I still run the risk of the cab coming loose causing bad things to happen.....it would seem that in anything but a tube buggy where the is no separate body structure there is no way to safely tie to the frame/cage or am i missing something?

run a show bar from side to side behind your seats, cut holes to exit cab right behind door frame, weld the tube to your roll bar, couldn't help to put a few mounts going through the floor onto the frame, cab would have no chance to move then.

What i was considering was running another cross from the exo, through the roof, through the floor to the frame just behind the seats, attaching the harnesses to that the extending the ones through the back wall to meet that cross as well.

Like you said....make it much harder for the cab to move at all.

Some aftermarket harness dont have shoulder straps long enough to reach the floor behind the driver...some do,some dont.
