just finishing up my tj and my buddys tj(wheelsofsteele). he did a 60 front w 60 rear out of a 79 ford. had a rubicon long arm so we changed the upper links in rear, tossed the rear trackbar and built a 3 link for the front. i did a 60 front 14 bolt rear,3 link front, leaves in the rear. streched to 103. i built new arms for the front and 2.5 currie joints. will post up pictures and more detail when i figure out how to get these pictures in photobucket. we started mikes jeep july 29 sun night and finishing it up today. his tj is a 1997 mine is a 2003. there is some diffrent stuff between the years.i will give detail on what we ran into.

well a few updates.it has been a while.
i have broke 2 outer 30 spline shafts.
1 lockout
2 t case chains
1 rear output yoke
ripped the track bar mount off
ripped the rear traction bar off 3 times
spun the whole 14 bolt center section.
3 holes in sidewall of 1 tire.

not bad for 2 years of hard wheeling. so i am updating some stuff.just finishing installing all the new stuff this week.
new superior 35 spline shafts in the front. thanks extreme!!
extreme off road drive flanges.
41x14.50x20 iroks
1330 yokes in front, 1350 yokes in rear.
have the good stuff in my t case, but still looking for that good deal on a rubi case.
have a flat skid but not on yet.
putting all new traction bar on rear.
i am pretty happy with this jeep. just going to keep building it stronger.
full hydro is next on the list.

Maybe you should have somebody else put in your traction bar, and maybe you should buy a real t-case you cheap ass

i have been tossing around links and coilovers.i love how stable my jeep is with the rear leaves.no sway bars front or rear. i have had zero issues with them. mike has replaced every joint in his links.his uppers twice.rubicon express joints sure are junk.i will never buy joints.heims seem to last alot longer.
when i link it, it will have some cool coilovers with air bypasses and air bumps.
i will take a picture of the 41 iroks i have now. they are bigger then a bias 42 irok. and bigger then beckys 42 swamper. someday they should learn how to measure and mark tires??
i dont want a atlas because of the noise. rubi case is going in soon.

he shouldnt have blown any joints out unless they got loose and did nothing about it, got a bad batch or something is binding up. on the flip side, if there is not much vertical seperation at the axle end then the forces going into the links can be a lot higher, not sure if that could be something or not? I havent seen a heim joint last longer than any generic "flex joint" and the same goes for the opposite. the both last a long time when used and maintained properly.

you dont need bypasses, it's just $500 per corner and more crap to try and package. remote reservoir 2.5's will be all you need. add in the air bumps and you can do everything.

:sonicjay::sonicjay::sonicjay: nice excuse :thumb: if I thought you could hear some t-case gear noise over the rest of your jeep I might believe you. :teehee:

i called advanced adapters and they did say they have changed some stuff to make them quiet. it's not out of the question. just finding the rubi cases for alot less then a atlas.
that is good to know that yours is quiet. you just got it not too long ago didnt you?that is usually when they are the loudest is new.

well time for me to add some upgrades again...
last friday before the race i found my passenger side knuckle was cracked on my 60. so jimmy from extreme hooked me up with a new billet one and a keyed high steer arm.man these are sweet!!
after last weekends beat down. it is also going in the garage after we get back from windrock in a couple weeks.
the plan is to keep it real low, so cutting the hood and the front part of the frame.link the rear. run all inch and 1/4 joints with all alum links.coilovers, bypasses and air bumps..so stay tuned for my never ending nights in the garage...

this is what it looks like now...
