I want to put a stranger axle in the front of my TJ I dont want a d44 and i'd like to keep it close to my 60"wms. Cuz I dont wanna be real wide. I'm thinking try and build a 9in. or just find a dana 60 and cut it down wouldn't be too hard. Let me know what you think or what you would do. I'm planning on putting a V8 in the jeep at some point so I need something to hold up better then the dana 30, I have a ford 8.8 in the rear so that should hold up.

wow that don't look too bad not to expensive either, also would those axle tubes they have in the related items below that work, I've got a lot of research to do, looking for brackets that should be a couple hunderd seems like the 3rd member is gunna cost the most, but over all looks like i'm gunna start building a front axle

Thats what i'm seeing even with a 9in is theres not gunna be a lot of room for brackets. Jeepaholic is right about the D44 is that its not much stonger then the d30. I have a long arm lift on it so they are not stock arms. but i'm looking at this bracket that has all the mounts for the coil, the shock and the control arm mount all built in.

I know I said I didn't wanna go with a d44 but I've found a set from a 78 ford d44 HP front and d 60 FF rear of course I'd have to get brackets for both and I'd prolly weld the rear spiders, but I'm wondering what you guys run as axles in ur TJs. I plan on putting a 350 in there so thats the reason for a axle upgrade
