Fricanos is good for pizza. Crazy Horse is a good steakhouse. Franks in Zeeland is good for a grease burger. Windmill on 8th St for good breakfast. Lots of good places. If you like wraps/gyros check out Mr. Kozaks on 8th St. One place to avoid at all cost is G&L.
If they are paying for meals, there is a place on the lakeshore that was really good that I took my girlfriend... back when she was still my girlfriend (now fiancee). I'll see if I can look it up
On regards to Vitales, don't get delivery. I don't know why and it doesn't make sense, but their pizza is pretty good when eaten there, but pretty bad when delivered. I used to work at the chemical plant just north of the power plant. I thought about applying there, but got a good job in Holland, closer to home.
If you want real pizza not that crap everyone above is talking about go to crust 54 best deep dish outside of Chicago I have ever had. If you don't want pizza then yes boat works is worth checking out. Pereddies on the south side has great food as well
