All set. I cut down a flex fan and milled a 2" spacer to 1 3/8". Things are still tight but I have 3/4" everywhere which should be more than enough clearance.
I cut and spliced some radiator hoses to fit and started the wireing tonight. I currently have 5 wires going into the firewall and I have power to the ign, wipers, HVAC, headlight switch and cig lighter. Strangely enough- the radio, which worked the other day when 12v was added to the PDC, no longer works. I have 13v at the fuse box behind the glove box, but no radio. Food for thought.
Stepping back to earlier pages for a minute-
When I built the tricycle for my kid he was really too little for it. We had some friends over last night for dinner that had heard about it so i brought it in the house for them to see. Vince ran over, hopped on and paddled around the house for 20 minutes. He seems to dig it. Hopefully his feet can reach the pedals by spring.
I haven't used a tach in years. Go by sound and feel. Plus when wheeling hard it's hard to be worrying about looking down. Actually, I just removed my tach last weekend although it hasn't been wired since my last motor swap.
Ideally, I would just like a stand alone rev limiter. I agree that there is usually too much going on to care about looking down, but with 4:1, I'm a bit worried about having time to get out of the throttle before things go bad. Its one of those things I can tinker with later, I just didn't want it in the guage cluster.
Front axle is now rebuilt- KP's, all seals, joints, Lockrite, etc. The bleeders are froze in my calipers and I'm trying to decide if I should go get some rebuilt ones ($50 ea), or break the bleeder off and try to remove it. Advice?
if you break them off and cannt get it out its not really a big deal if youve thought about new calipers any how
