i was thinking about building my 95 12v cummins h.o, and i was wondering what would be a safe build, because it is my plow/pulling/hauling truck. i want to be able to haul my truck camper still which weighs around 8000 lbs fully loaded. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I don't believe the HO came until 2000 and was a 24-valve. They made some changes in 1997, but the HO didn't come around until the 6-speed NV5600 became available. Sounds like you just have the later 215hp 12-valve?

i was just wondering what would be a safe build considering i still plow, and haul with the truck. i do not want to build some high horsepower diesel that i can no longer use to plow without worrying about blowing everything else up.

Mine was over 300hp at the rear wheels. The dodge autos sap a ton of power, but with a decent converter you will really notice the torque, the torque is night and day with my current PSD. I can tell you that with my jeep on the trailer it iwas still easy pull out on a 2 lane and pass 6 cars in a row no problem. Ask muddywater.

Was this achieved by just ditching the fuel plate, 4in down pipe and exhaust with no muffler and a bhaf or with an upgraded turbo in addition to these things?

The nice thing about the diesel trucks is you can build a 700 hp truck and still be able to plow and use it. I wouldnt be affraid at all to go plow with a truck that is 600 to 700 hp, it is mainly the transmission that you will need to be worried about while plowing, and oh how heavy that right foot is. PM me if you want to discuss some options.
