I'm in the process of going from 2-3 inches with rusty's coils and upgraded bastard rears. I take off the spring plate on the drivers side and F*&^... broken main spring, good thing I got a spare pair kicking around from the deal on the coils. Now just to deal with the bolts and we all know that horror story.
No oil, no penetrant lube and no cutting out the bolt, I backed out the front and rear leaf spring bolts on the drivers side . I'm going to go get a lotto ticket, I can't beat my luck.

It does happen once and a while go find a Small block chevy in a truck with over 200k on the clock then back out all the exh bolts with no breakage and then we'll talk :tonka:
