Ram front end question

I'm trying to figure out whats hammering under my plow truck today :(

I have a 1997 3/4 ton V8 Ram.

I have eliminated the CAD (put the PosiLock in place)

Today after plowing my entire rout something started just hammering under the truck feels like drive shaft.

My question is with the front axle unlocked (posilock system not engaged) and the transfer case in 2wd does my drive shaft still spin?

In can because you still have the drivers side axle connected which will spin the spiders and with enough momentum or friction the carrier will spin. This will cause the drive shaft to spin. There will be no load on the shaft though. You should be able to spin the shaft by hand with everything disengaged.

Thats what I was thinking.

I think the CV end of my shaft is gone very small amount of slop in it replaced 2 years ago.. Axle joints new last year. Must be the cv end.
