I don't have a fancy light bar because I don't see the usage. Unless you are always in the front of the gang, you can never turn them on anyway. The only place I have ever wished for better lighting offroad was at KOH.
I have some old fancy ricer fog lights I could mount to. but id rather go to something with a lower draw. you can get the pod lights for about $25 a piece.
notice I said 12" light bar. im not looking for double 50" bars. because I agree with you. all the parks around here you cant usually night wheel. but I would like something more than my stock headlighs. so again. instead of buying 2 6" kc daylighters with hot pink light covers. id like to get a small 12" LED bar to go in my grille.
I've used the light strips quite a bit when I build a sound system for a ricer. They work good but the light output isn't very much. I don't think they would work well as rock lights.
I bought a few sets of these and just mounted some up under the JK for rock lights. They seem pretty bright, but then again I do have a lot of them under there. The only thing I can say is the wires are pretty damn dinky and really short. We shall see how they hold up.
She has a ridgid, as do I. Mine is the 10 or 12 inch dual pattern. Has both a row of spot and a row of flood. Probably more expensive than what nick wants to spend but the are a great light! Very bright. I know Chop is selling a line of less expensive LEDs too.
Whats the best place to run this type of light ? When mounted on the roof do they give glare off the hood ? When on the front bumper do they still give the distance out front ?
Rigid is the only game in town for LEDs as far as I'm concerned...I've had a few set of them and nick you know how bright my 10" bar is and I have the mix pattern
Amazon has the Genssi 24 inch bar for 150 bucks. There was a guy that had one in Canada a couple weeks ago and for the price it was damn bright. 9000 lumens.
