information: 94 cummins,automatic,150hp injectors,5'' exhaust

when I come off idle with light pressure on the go pedal the truck lopes, sounds like a really wild cam. it goes blaa,,,,blaa,,,,blaa. sounds like a hit and miss motor. when you give it a little more pedal it goes away. any ideas?

another issue that i have is that i was going down the road and the 10amp fuse that's inside the truck for the engine blew. i put a new one in, started it and as soon as i hit the gas it blew again.:( i put a 25amp in to get home, any ideas?

lots of good forums on diesels, I like thedieselgarage.com. First thing I would do is take care of what ever is shorting out, now granted there isnt much wiring on a 12v cummins, it would suck to burn anything up, espesially that you put a 25a fuse in it.
With this miss, does it just sound wierd or does it lose power when it does it? is there any smoke when it does it? if so what color?

it does not lose power, but its only loping right off idle.

the idle problem has been going on since i bought it and the fuse issue just happened. i going to do the fuse first when i have the energy,i just got out of the hospital a few days ago.

The fuse issue was the blue wire that hooks to the battery. the looping i have not figured out. i blew the rear brake lines and had to replace it all, rear lines, wheel cylinders, turn drums. i am going to get a appointment with a diesel shop soon. i am also going to advance the pump and add a fuel plate. i did hear some one say that it could be the big injectors without the pump being advanced but i dont know for sure.

I would see what changes after you bump the timing. Alot of these trucks slip time. FWIW, I have not had that problem on either of my trucks (94 and 96) but I have not had the timing slip or ran aftermarket injectors (I use a #10 plate and 4k springs). I do have some 215 injectors I hope to install some day.

Also, if doing the timing, fix the kdp and loc-tight all of the timing cover bolts..

Last, I prefer the dtr forum.
