chevy big block blowing smoke

i bought a '93 chevy with a 454 and nv4500, pretty cool.
the guy said there was about 60,000 on the motor, had to put plugs on and runs real strong.
only driven it a dozen times or so since i bought it 4 months ago.
today i take off and shift and POOF,,,,,,,,,SMOKE:( (blue smoke,like oil)
every time i shift, POOF
rev it up ,POOOOF

what could cause this? Seems wierd to me that last time i drove it i didnt notice anything, today you could see it from a 747 flight over michigan.

valve seals worn/cracked...pcv system sucking oil...clogged return oil passages causing the valve cover to fill with oil and drain down the worn valve seals
