So yea last night we were testing the ice on crescent lake with my new truck with about five other buddies. Well we were driving on the shore and decided to go on the ice a little, about two feet in. Then the ice broke and I was like no big deal it was only like two feet of water. But when I went to go back up the rest of the ice gave way and my truck slid deeeeeeeper. So i tried to bac up and was STUCK. So we all climb out of the back sliding window. When we got out we realized the fron of the truck was almost under water. Crazy stuffffff.lol. So I jump back into the truck. Only to realize I had about three inchs of water in the truck and there was more coming in. Then Aaron and Fred(auto shop buddies) show up and pull me out. Thank god they were there.lol. When we pulled the truck out there was about five inchs of water in it. O well, shit happends. I'll get pictures and videos up soon.
Yea I know im a idiot.

so what makes him posting pics of his truck broke through the ice on the beach in the water any different from the pics that were posted earlier this year of the guy parking his jeep in lake huron? Its illegal regardless to drive in a lake. 10 minutes, 2 days whatever.

My point is that we don't need the pics posted on a public forum of any douche parked/stuck in a lake. Regardless of how it is looked at, its irresponsible and reckless. And when do you need to drive on ice to shine lights on it to see if its frozen over?

Driving on ice vs busting through into a lake-two pretty different things

I can't beleive their's only a few voices of reason on this

Shut up:miff: You would of done the same damn thing. I was out TWO FEET. Not to mention Crescent lake is a private lake. Cops are not even allowed on it!! Nor is the DNR. BUT they are allowed to do whatever they want on shore. There just not allowed on the water. Unless someone lets them in. OK DOUCHE I guess I will post a picture of someone launching a boat into the lake also. SAME DAMN THING PRICK:poke:

I'm glad you learned a Lesson. I, for one, would have never done it. It is kind of A stupid thing to do. I'm glad the truck didn't get hurt and you are fine. I don't have the money or the extra vechiles to do be that careless. I don't care how you justify it, it was careless.

Oh, and I think Iceman was talking about the fact that it's hard to find/Get land for Four wheeling and people doing things like this doesn't help. It doesn't matter if you use the truck as a fourwheeling truck, Peope just assume because it's a truck and your not on the road. I would think that "tread lightly" would not apply to this story.

Good luck.

I think all of you think this truck went under. it didnt.haha, The back tires were still on the shore. The front tires were just off shore. It is ABSOULUTLEY NO different than backing a big boat into the lake except the other way around. It was just scary because it could of gotten tens times worse in a matter of a few seconds. Sorry i dont have the pics yet the kid with the camera is being a cock munch. He claims he doesnt know how to load the pictures on his computer:miff:

Some one Call the DNR. Its Huge Fine for a vehicle to go under water. My sons Mom lost controlle of here car and it slid in to a lake and the DNR was going to fine her but didnt do to it being an accident

Something like it was going to be up to a $50,000 fine.

ok, i really dont see what all the fuss is about at all. its not like he was wheeling around doing donuts in a lake. the front end went in. this is a common occurance. everytime someone launches a boat with a front mount hitch, the same thing happens. every time a boat gets launched the rear tires go in the lake with a rear hitch, whats the difference between a front and rear axle? how is the front axle worse, am i supposed to be putting radioactive 80-90 in the front end? the engine wasnt under water, its not like oil was blowing out all over the place. ill state this as a fact. if you have ever gone home and cried because your front tires got wet, you are the deffinition of gay. not that theres anything wrong with that.

I guess the hardest part of what I see going on is the fact we have so many "know it alls"?

A.J. didn't do anything anyone one of us isn't/wasn't guilty of at one time or another. give the kid a break he got it out.

he wasn't on the news watching from shore or the DNR bringing out the crane to extract his truck from the lake bottom. fact is if you go out to any of the "Private" lakes you will find more trash because the Sheriff & DNR don't go on then as much. in most cases they don't have access to a launch and they would have to tresspass to get on.

Also it sounds like too that many people are miss informed on fines. if I remember right the fine was like $500 the first Day if the car/sled/quad was on the bottom and $1000 for each day it sat there. the best thing is the vehicles now a days have sealed oiling systems and fuel tanks. its damn near impossible to leak stuff into the lake by accident. I have watched guys drain the bilge on their boats at the launch and get more crap in the lake then this kid would have if the oil cap was off. for gods sake get off the soap boxes already.

Think it is like a feeding frenzy for sharks. AJ brings it on by posting stupid, and being proud of that fact. He just brings out the worst in people at times. That and he makes it easy by his posts.

I agree that maybe they/we have been alittle harsh. ANd I apologize for my Comments if they were. I just want to know what would bring you to the conclusion to even think to take your truck anywere close to the shore/Lake IF you weren't intending to go out. The people that drop thier boats have a reaon to. What was yours?

:sonicjay: Dude, I was over two feet of water. It shifted. It was a very windy night. Call me dumb. I dont care. It was fun and no one got in trouble. Scary as hell though.

I live a .5 mile from a lake (an extremely busy lake) and spends lots of time out their and your right i see guys submerge their trucks to the point of getting 3 inches of water inside the interior all the time.......................:miff:

Shut up:miff: You would of done the same damn thing. I was out TWO FEET. Not to mention Crescent lake is a private lake. Cops are not even allowed on it!! Nor is the DNR. Damn you are clueless BUT they are allowed to do whatever they want on shore. There just not allowed on the water. Unless someone lets them in. First off i could care less that he put his truck in the lake, the only real point i am trying to make is not to post the pic, if this was in stanlakes i would call you a dumbass and move on since it is private. And yeah i have driven a vehicle in water and probably nobody on here hasn't. But posting pics of being a dumbass is different.

Your right i am an asshole, thats why this is the first thread or hell even a response to any post you've made on this sight. I must follow you around this sight e-stalking your stupidty..............I'll try this again I COULD CARELESS WHAT YOU DO, I SIMPLY ASKED THAT YOU NOT POST A PIC for the simple reason that it can be veiwed by anyone, anywhere and used anyway anyone wants

i have had plenty of dissagreements with scramblerman in the past and in this thread he makes alot of sense, And pretty much is right on about the DNR, and i can say so from experience with a Conservation officer

i think the reason you are getting your ass reamed so bad is not because your truck broke through the ice.. because obviously you got it out in time.

the reason i feel you are getting reamed is because you keep telling everybody how cool it was, and that nothing matters and that you can't get in trouble for anything.

what you should have said (if you had to bring it up at all) was. (short version) i wanted to see if the lake was frozen and didn't have a flashlight with me. so i tried to use my headlights and accidently broke through. (now here is the IMPORTANT part) luckily i was able to retrieve it quickly and didn't have any fluids or otherwise harmfull substance get into the lake. i don't think i'll be doing that again.

somehow i think you would have gotten ALOT less heat if it would have went something like that.

oh and if you really want to avoid looking like an ass, quit changing your story. first you went from several inches of water in the cab, to saying that it was only your tires and your rear was still on land.
let's think about that. if your rear was still on land and your front end went deep enough to get several inches of water in the truck, then you would have most likely ended up vertical like that jeep that was posted earlier.
SOOO.....if you didn't and were able to be recovered relatively easily by your friends, then that means the truck was relatively level. so either the "several inches of water in the truck" is true and your truck was at least past the oil pan in the water (oil pan is generally lower than the floorboards) which means your motor was partially under water.
OR.....you only got the tires wet and that's why your friends were able to recover you and you just "colored in" the story to make it more interesting.

either way, you are not following the rules of TREAD LIGHTLY. which basically means EVERYBODY regardless of type of vehicle MUST respect the ENVIRONMENT.

if it was an accident, then tell your story without exagerating and admit to having done wrong (yes we have ALL done wrong. but we don't try to get everybody to think it's the coolest thing ever) and learn from it. if it was careless..........then please learn from everybody here telling you how reckless it was and don't do it again.

and next time.......went in doubt, DON'T do it.

Are you dumb dude. Wait until you see the picture. Then you will know what I mean. The one passenger tire dug in the sand(Under Water) which mad ethe front passenger corner sink farther into the water. So badly the truck was pretty much flexing to its max.

ALL IN ALL everyone. I know it was dumb. But still funny.

AJ you rule:woot: The only reason these pansy ass's are riding you so hard is they are jealous you actualy get (GASP) off road with your truck While the rest of the asphalt 4wd club here just wishes they could. Yes they have double low range 38's and lockers in their POS jeeps but don't have the balls or the brains to use them, Get ahold of me I know some lakes and swamps we can go wheel in and this time of year the cattails coming through the ice make for good traction.
