You do NOT need a class III FFL to own full auto in Michigan, you just need to pay the $200 transfer and file the proper form [depending on the type of transfer] to the BATF per the National Firearms Act of 1934.
But the Gun Control Act of 1986 made it unlawful to make any new full auto.

Any discussion on converting your firearm into full auto could put you in jail for conspiracy, any FFL/SOT knows this.

I have just recently started doing the Duracoat gun finishes. I have been using the Teflon based finishes for years with great success but the Duracoat seems to be a bit more versatile. I am offering a 10% discount to any member on this site who wants a Duracoat refinish. PM me for prices. Thanks

I have a Winchester 1200 12 gauge.I was wondering if it would be possible to put an adjustable choke tube on it and how much. Also how much to replace the site with a fiberoptic bead.

I would need to see the barrel to measure barrel wall thickness but to convert to screw in choke tubes $150-$200 range and a fiber optic bead $30-$40 depending on which one you want. I don't want to talk you out of my services but you may be further ahead purchasing a shotgun that already has the screw in tubes.
Thanks, Tim

Ya, thats kinda what I was thinking. I just wanted to get an idea so I knew if it was worth it or not. I really want a matte camo gun for duck hunting anyways so it isn't a big deal. It's not like I'm attached to this one. But I'll keep the fiber optic bead in mind eithee way as my whole family ets them on their guns.

where did you learn gunsmithing? do you do custom checkering? i have a really nice stock that is semi fitted. a blank custom cut from fajen. its an amazing piece of wood!
ive thought about having it finished, but i didnt know a gunsmith i trusted.
do you have any pics of some of your woodwork?

my father was the gunsmith at neumans gun shop for many years. worked at northwest gun shop for a while too. he specialized in custom safari stuff and exotic woodwork.
he went to the colorado school of trade for gunsmithing.

thx, good luck

My father was a gunsmith so I have been around the trade my whole life. When my father retired and moved I made friends with a local gunsmith and he helped me finish up my apprenticeship so to speak. I was a machinist by trade for many years so I have the skills to do the precision metal work. Over the years I "specialized" in many things. I was a competitive shooter so I have done a lot of work on 1911's to get the competitive edge. The thing I am most passionate about is custom sporting rifles. I have built and re-stocked dozens of rifles over the years and it is the thing I enjoy the most. All my stock work is done with hand tools to keep the wood to metal fit at minimum tolerances. Also bedding is a big concern when stocking a rifle and the recoil lug is always glass bedded for stability and strength. So if you have a stock you want fitted I would love to do it for you. I have one rifle I am finishing up now and a full custom rifle I will be starting shortly (after deer season). On a re-stock the time frame is usually 6-9 months depending on the finish you choose as some London style finishes may take several weeks to apply. Checkering I can do but I am so slow at it. I can't make any money at it so I work with someone who is much faster than me but just as picky about detail. I have very few photos of my work as I just started a portfolio (I know should have done years ago) but I can provide many references and I do have examples of my work you can see in person. Most of the rifles I build are wood stocked sub half inch @ 100yards rifles which shows my attention to detail. To me craftsmanship is everything.
