I bought my 99 Wrangler used, it already had a 3in BDS lift, Garvin Wilderness rack, 2 sets of rims and tires and all the stock parts.
First set of mods: Arb Bull bumper, Fake beadlocks w/ the ring painted white, Hella Rallye 4000 HIDs, Pioneer AVIC-N1 navigation system. York/Kilby OBA.
Second round of mods: Rubicon Express 4.5 Superflex lift kit, black hinges, black grill cover, Off Road Only Lightdots, Ipod, Cobra CB..
Future plans: Warn 9.5si MOSFET winch, w/ ORO Synthetic Line, BFG Mud Terrians 35's, 4.56 gears(or 33's with 4.10 gears) ARB locker installed in the rear 44, an Aussie Locker installed in the front. Off Road Onlys Swayloc and U-turn, Rokmen Cornor Guards, and Walker Evan Beadlocks.
fuck off :finger: You try working full time & taking summer classes. I got the final coat of white paint on the wheels last night and the front axle fully disassembled last night. I was hoping I could save some money and drill my 5x5.5 hubs to 8 lug but thats not gonna happen so I have to get new hubs and rotors now.
My rear axle is done now, Ill be picking it up tomorrow. I need to get disk brake conversion parts for it, weld on lower link and coilover mounts and get shafts for it.
I got my rear axle back from being modified, bought new dana 60 front hub and rotor assemblys for the 44/60, repainted the front axle, and to top it off just for fun, let my rear axle land on my foot after it decided to jump off the jackstand. Lets just say that sandles arnt a good safety shoe and now my toe is broke bad :sonicjay: Its hard to see but where the 3 toes are grouped together, there is a large pool of blood.
Can you rename this thread to "...unborn..." instead of reborn for the time being? It's only fitting since it's in a few hundred pieces, when you put it back together it can be "reborn" again... :sonicjay:
No major updates to report. Im pickup up rotors and studs for the rear axle tomorrow and Im also selling my car trailer tomorrow. Good bye 32 enclosed/open car trailer, hello 34 foot goose neck :naughty:
I also just sold my hybrid 44/60 front axle today so now I have to start the build up of my front 60 :woot: Im stuffing it with 4.88's, ARB locker, chromo 35 spline stubs, Longfield joints, Reid knuckles, drive flanges, Ballistic fab truss/cover & high steer arms. Granted that IF i have the money to do so :sonicjay:
Today is going to be a fun day I finally have the proper funding so its time to start buying stuff.
List of things getting bought:
ARB locker, 4.88 gears, gear install kit, Longfield joints & spindle bushings, Ballistic fab front truss & cover, lower rear link brackets, Genright front 3 link brackets, heims for steering, rear axle shafts, front Branik shafts (if i have enough left over) plus some other crap that I cant think about.
Sad sad rate of progress here. I might have a new Jeep. Build it. Wheel it. Break it. Fix it. Cut it up and sell it in pieces and get another toy before you get yours to a trail head again.
I build stuff like old people fuck :sonicjay: Trying to build things "right" (which I never do) takes time and money and i never have enough of either lol.
I just finished buying 80% of the parts I needed, Ill order the gears, locker & install kit later this afternoon. Later on this week Ill be going to Jeffs Bronco Graveyard to get the 35 spline stubs and rear cut to fit shafts. As it looks ill have just enough left over to buy some Corbeau Baja SS seats, a KORE4x4 fuel cell ring and new lower kingpin caps :woot:
yep, I ripped apart a junk TJ fuel assembly yesterday and found they can be shortened. Im going to try having the mechanic at work modify the tank, remove the sump, and dish out the top 2-3 inches.
I stripped the front 60 last night, everything removed and all the brackets cutoff. I gotta spend some time with a power washer or get it out blasted cause its funky :sonicjay: I gotta get kingpin rebuild parts.
I got my order from Genright, the 1st set of new coil overs and my Longfield 300m u joints. Im waiting on my Ballistic fab order, new rear coilovers and springs and get over to Jeffs bronco graveyard for the shafts.
:sonicjay: Id have alot more progress if I could work on this more then the 2 nights a week like I am and if I could get my parts in. Saturday Ill probably cut off the front link brackets and start bringing over my new parts. The bitch is Ballistic fab has all my parts that I need to make this a roller again so I cant do much till I get their parts in
