OK. My stepdad's neighbor,s rear axle locked up on him. He has a 99 F250 diesel with a SRW axle. I was also told that the pumpkin had what he described as "rust holes" in it.:confused: Dunno about that. I have access to an 84 f250 SRW Dana 60. Will the 84 Dana 60 work with the 99? Thanks.

It wont be compatable with the Super Duty, The spring perches are different, and the dually rear end is wider than the SRW. But the main reason that you don't want to do the swap is because the Super Duty has rear Disk Brakes, and the 84 rear end has drum brakes.

For the rear end cover, they do tend to rust out and start leaking fluid, One real nice upgrade is to install a factory finned aluminum off of an 08 Super Duty. They are only about $50.00 right from Ford.

Good Luck!

OK... turns out the F250 that needs a new rear axle is actually a 94 diesel..... so I repeat the question with the correct year truck.

My stepdad's neighbor's rear axle locked up on him. He has a 94 F250 diesel with a SRW axle. I was also told that the pumpkin had what he described as "rust holes" in it. Dunno about that. I have access to an 84 f250 SRW Dana 60. Will the 84 Dana 60 work with the 94? Thanks.

Is the 94 an automatic or a stick?

Like MR Evil stated the 94 has a speed sensor in the rear end, and the 84 does not. If it is an auto, the trans relys on that signal to work correctly. If it is a stick, it will only mess the rear antilocs.

What gear ratio to you need?
