If we had filed jointly this year we would have lost out on a shit load of money this time around!!!!!!! Good thing I went this year with the wife to point this out!!!:whiz:
Sure hope you have a competent tax advisor, I have been at this a lot of years and can't think of more than a handful that have ever worked out to more than a couple hundred dollars benefit filing separately.
Just did ours today. Several sub forms. My federal and state income tax was 8000+- this past year. It is always touch and go with all of the sub forms from farming. I managed to loose money again this year. America, fuck yeah.
$400.00 back from state. Have to pay $5,000.00 to feds. I keep telling myself....taxes is what you pay for a civialized society, but I hate writing that check!
Anticipate next year the Fed bill will be $7,500.00, we probably won't have as many deductions as we did last year.
I'm in the process of figuring out how to start paying quarterly taxes because of the moonlighting my wife is doing at other hospitals.
I really just wish we had a straight flat tax or consumption tax....this shit is a pain in the ass.
