The future wife and I want to go to Jamaca for our honeymoon.

Anyone been there?

Where on the island did you stay? hotel? town? etc.

I have heard its reallly nice if you dont go in to the town to see the locals.

If you have a recommondations for an all inclusive that would be nice.

thanks,
rob.

My wife and I stayed at the couples in Ocho on our honeymoon in '06. It was all-inclusive with great food and all the alcohol you could drink.(they even had some topshelf liqours as well) The nice thing about the couples resorts if they are only open to hetero couples and don't allow children. They have pleny of activities on site that are either free or cheap. I enjoyed the SCUBA diving trips very much and its only $50 for dives beyond the free one that comes with the package. If you do end up going to Jamaica you have to do the Dunns River falls excursion. You and a group climb a small waterfall that is some of the cleanest water you'll find anywhere. The kayaking isn't bad either except the river they take you to is rather slow moving and even if you just float it only takes about 45 minutes to complete the trip. The ride up the mountain is quite interesting though, you take a Land Rover discovery up a narrow winding road with a 500+ foot vertical drop on one side and a rock face on the other. As if that wasn't bad enough it is a 2 way road and you will meet people along the way.

We would definately go back to the Couples in Ocho again, and are planning to do so as soon as we can afford to go.

*The only shitty thing about Ocho and most Jamaican cities is the bus/van ride from the airport in Montego to the resort. It is about 2-2.5 hrs by car to get to the resort.

i have went to aruba twice and i liked it both times. rent a jeep and go to the rocky side of the island and drive where ever you want for miles pretty cool. and people are great. everyone there makes the same amount like cab drives make the same as the guy that cleans the pool so everyone is happy.

One of the Hawaiian Islands seem like they would fit what you're looking for. Try Kuai, pretty damn nice. You're going to see some poverty no matter where you go. If you don't leave the resort and experience it though, then you haven't really been to wherever you're traveling. You gotta get dirty. That said, maybe stick with the Hawaiian Islands for a honeymoon, save the "culture" experiences for a more drunken vacation.
