Blaming refs for why you lose a game is fucking stupid. A ref's call, two calls, three calls, whatever, doesn't cost you the game.

The fact is, the Lions rely way too much on the passing game and have nothing other than C. Johnson and Stafford. They have other complimentary players, but no one stands out.

As far as their defense, they're terrible. They just allowed a team lead by mostly backups to hang 45 points on them, and make it looks easy. Also, Vandenbosh is a d bag...nice red contacts you ***.

They Lions have some crazy "confidence" and are cocky as shit, which I don't get why...since they haven't won anything. Also, they're a very chippy, borderline dirty team. I can't get behind them, as I think they're a smoke a mirrors team that beat up on a horrible AFC West division. Yes, the Lions are a 10 win team (7 of which came from the shitty AFC West and the awesome Vikings and injured Bears), however, they won't win in the playoffs, and made the playoffs off 7 empty wins, the collapse of the Bears, Cowboys, and Giants. They will probably be back to a .500 of under team next year.

PS, I don't hate the Lions, I'm a realist...that's all. If you're a Lions fan, congratulations, your team made the playoffs. But don't pound your chest thinking they're a super bowl team. The stars aligned, they made it...but don't expect much from them.

When you play your heart out and a ref calls a hard call such as a td as an incomplete pass without discussion or review then your wrong sir. Calls can make or break a game. You're not a Lions fan as you don't believe in them and what it stands for. Realist = douchebag band wagon jumper....Get the fuck off my bus!!!! I was a fan at 0-16 and will be a fan next year regardless the outcome these playoffs bring or next years records or any year.

I do think they need to stop beating themselves. Penalties are hard enough, but catches have to be made. They brought alot of excitement this year and I'm not only speaking of wins but to the game in general. I'm proud to be a Lions fan plain and simple.

I think everyone is forgetting that Flynn led LSU to a national championship against one of the best Ohio state defenses ever.

Oh and the fact that the lions secondary ( reason for loss besides poor officiating) was a lot of second string as well.

I know they have been playing rough, but that happens in the NFL. Every year! Everyone just has the lions pegged because they went from 0-16 to 6-10 to 10-6. And look at the facts, everyone has won some and lost some this year agains good nd bad teams, just look at the packers and chiefs, I mean come on!

If know one ever believes in them how can they succeed is all I am saying... And look at all of the other guys around the league that have been fined this year, it's NOT just the lions, the NFL is rough, and always will be!

So for that, yes, I still say GO LIONS!

I'm not forgetting anything, Flynn is a legite football player, but he's a backup. He sat behind Jemarcus russel for 4 years, and now he has sat behind aaron rogers for 4 years.

The lions secondary is terrible, but you're right they are also depleted and injured. One of the main reasons they got beat today.

The lack of support for the lions probably goes back a few more years than the 0-16 season......I love football, I've watched the lions for years, they've had a good year, but being the 6th seed in the playoffs doesn't satisfy my expectations of a professional football team in a league built for mediocrity.

Everyone has a chance, free agency, salary caps, franchise tags, drafts, etc. breed equality in the NFL, smart management of players, talent, and salaries, coaching staffs, etc. and a little luck to avoid injuries make a good team, and the lions still are fluttering around in the middle of the pack.

upsets do tend to happen in playoffs my friend..... remember the patriots undefeated season that was ended in the super bowl by the wild card giants???

And I don't get the cocky comments at all... what have the lions said that makes them cocky? Or the fans for that matter... its more commentators that say they have improved and have something to feel good about.

I know this years playoffs will be short lived because I can honestly see NO winning the superbowl this year, but I really believe the lions will be a championship team within 2 more years, and I will be just as much of a fan regardless of how they do it!!

Heck I will still be a die-hard fan if they have another 0-16 year!!!

The cocky comments from me are directly taken from Suh acting like a "hard ass" all the time, doing stupid shit on the field and then denying it to the media. The chippy play, fights before games, Shwartz crying because Harbaugh didn't blow him during the handshake, players pointing after first downs, players "teebowing" and Suh imitating Rogers championship belt move today. Shit like that....it's just stupid. Add all of it up. Broad blanket statement on the Lions fans here, but they're all jumping on the bandwagon now. Pulling out the gear and blowing off the dust. And the comments about how good this team is, they're ill founded. Like I said, look at the schedule and tell me who they beat that was actually a quality team. Dallas? Denver? Minnesota? Oakland? Anyone? Did they beat a team over .500? Nope....ever single win was over a team at or below .500.

jump off your horse man...:finger: since when do people NOT showboat around the NFL? Really I want to know? Its entertainment man, I'm sorry if players get excited and try to pump their team up by getting excited.

Now lets talk win loss stats... Week 2 lions beat same KC that beat Packers.... Week 1 beat same Bucks that also defeated NO, and Falcons. And not to mention comebacks against decent teams. Obviously other teams win loss stats don't mean sh*t man, especially when an 8-8 team won afc west and a 9-7 team won nfc east.

So to answer your question, yes the lions won against credible teams, and yea I think they can showboat just as much as teams that lost to teams the Lions beat. Give them some credit before you look at nothing but records because at the end of the day only 5 teams in the whole league have a better record and it could be argued that a lot of those teams had an easy schedule as well when you look at records. Thats all I have to say about that.....:finger:

LOL Im a BIG Lions fan Jim... And I can't stand when guys look at teams records in the news paper to get their facts LOL...

Oh yeah I forgot to add in my last post that the lions also beat the same Raiders that beat the Texans, and the same Chargers that beat the AFC north champion Ravens.

p.s. Jim this is my slow transition back into wheeling :teehee: Now I just need something to wheel!!!:woot:

I was at lambeau for the game...i agree the officiating was bad,but from what i seen was two teams play awesome football...what cost the lions the game was a turn over in their two minute drill. Neither team had any problem marching up and down the field, stafford was on mark 98% of the day. They had ever opportunity to win it, not only that but the skill set to win it. Quit blaming refs for a team making mistakes and losing the game.

I agree completely, and when I posted that I was upset and let my temper get the better of me.... I guess I was just upset at the epic fail from the refs that "could have" potentially made the game a bit more interesting...

Having said that, I know the lions have had TONS of stupid penalties all season and need to get that under control first and foremost.... All it is, a lot of emotion from a die hard fan!

soul assasin ans superduty both make good points.

I look at the NFL (the mediocre football league) like this.

There are maybe 2 absolutely unbeatable teams in the NFC, the saints, and the packers, and there are 2 absolutely terrible teams in the NFC, the St. Louis Rams, and the Vikings. (Tampa bay could be included as well). The other teams bears, lions, cardinals, panthers, etc are all GOOD football teams that could beat anyone on any given sunday.

The saints and the packers should be favored every game, and "should win". All the other games are a toss up, and the Bucs, Vikings and Rams, "should" lose every game. These are professional teams and your gonna get a few unpredictable losses with the best and a few wins with the worst teams.

The lions fall in the middle, which means they should beat the teams they are better than, but they necessarily wont, same for losing to the saints and the packers, they should lose, but its not a given.

Can the lions beat the saints? Damn I hope so, but I surely wouldn.t put my hard earned cash on it.

I've been looking at their loss to the saints from the reg season. Now I'm on my phone so I'm not gonna get overly wordy.
we didn't have to Suh
We didn't have delmas
They had Ingram now they don't.
They had Moore now they don't.
we committed over 70the something yards more than them in penalties. Nate burrowing had 3to drive killing off pass int. Calls.
passing yards was similar.
Rushing yards was similar.
Of course the saints have experience and have a good winning streak going at home and overall right now. BUT "IF" the lions can play smart penalty and turnover free football they actually have a shot.

It will take a great game and some saints mistakes, but there is a glimmer of hope.

Kickstand not included, because he is Retarded. If you believe this game is being called equal in the second half you are obviously a saints fan. Why do they not fore refs for shitty calls.
