Northern Lakes was really good but closed down in the fall. I believe they are moving to a new location in Troy on Crooks but I don't think they have opened yet.

We've tried Bonefish Grill a few times and never been impressed. I'd rather go to McCormick and Schmick's if I want a big chain seafood place.

I haven't seen it mentioned here but, headed the other way, the River Crab in St. Clair is good too. Although I haven't been there for anything but brunches in the past few years so who knows how their dinner menu is right now.

Of the original list I like McCormick and Schmick's the best. The food is always good, the price is good, the atmosphere is nice, and it doesn't fill up with douchebags like Ocean Prime. They do have a tendency to get a lot of old folks though.

The food is good at Ocean Prime, but I don't think it's worth the prices. But like mentioned above, they can get some awful people in there.

My new place suggestion that wasn't on the list: Streetside Seafood in Birmingham which is always very good. That's our favorite place for seafood and we tend to go there for lunch or dinner at least once a month. They guy who runs that also runs the Beverly Hills Grill, Cafe ML, and Roadside B&G - all of which are great. And if you're not in the mood for seafood, the burger at Streetside is one of the best I've had in Metro Detroit.

Giovanni's best plate of food I've had in a very very long time locally. No doubt it's in the good but the place is beautiful inside and you cannot ask for better service. Not seafood but well worth it IMO. Average about $50-$60 a person but very good with outstanding wait staff.

Not really a big seafood place, but quay street brewery has great food and great beer. Or, the vintage tavern which also has excellent food. Both are in port Huron on the black river.
