Thinking about buying 1.5 acres in white lake. .39 of the land is wetlands. Has anyone built a primary residence on land like this?

I'll have to check those out. I've been told Kubota is also the way to go.

If I only had an acre to cut I'd seriously think about a lawn service doing it. Add up the costs of the mower, your time, repairs & maintenance and "crap I forgot to get gas!", and storing the stinky thing and you'll get quite a few years of "free" mowing. I don't understand how most lawn care guys work so cheap. Grab someone already working the area and they'll probably be most reasonable and you can check out their work.

My parents are in white lake, one of mom's neighbors has a service, and since it's literally able to be cut by the guy riding his zero turn from his house he gives her a break of $50/cut for her 1.75ish acre lot that has probably a quarter of it not cut due to wetlands/treestands. the entire front and side yard are like a football field, nice easy flat rectangles.

$50 every two weeks adds up pretty quickly - especially if it's an early spring/late fall type of year.

I'm going to check out John deere this week sometime. I just have to figure out where the closest dealer is.

you cant drive a zero turn and drink a beer. Just sayin.. I have a 46" old school Montgomery ward tractor to mow the 2-2.5 acres I keep mowed. It takes me about 2-3hrs between moving trailers and rigs and wacking the ditch and what not. Its my solitude. Need to find a good deal on a 3pt finish mower for my big tractor. So I can utilize more of my 10 acres. besides the pond and wheeling areas. Oh and Congrats on the house man. Sounds like an upgrade

Already have new bamboo flooring for the living room picked out. I'm gonna put it in as soon as we close.
