I am going to finish my xj this weekend I hope. I was looking at the website to see what time they are open. I have wheeled there maybe 6 times and am very close. However under the rules it says no firearms on the property. I know some people who work their are on here. Please tell me that this will be changed and that you support our 2nd amendment. I would hate if I had to travel to a park that is farther away to wheel because of this. Maybe nobody has noticed. I know I always carry when there. There must be a misunderstanding RIGHT!!???

One of my friends carried while we were in Harlan. I told him he was a little nuts when I saw him with a pistol shoved in his belt. Then we talked to the chief of police (we were staying in his rental house). He said he would recommend it. :sonicjay: There are some scary sister fuckers back in those hills and we're all riding around in $$$$$ rigs. I could see the easy opportunity.

This.

"My opinion is better."

"No! Mine is better!"

"My opinion is better and I will educate you on why!"

Meh. Makes for curing of some of my boredom at work.

The Monroe BWW's doesn't have any signs restricting pistols, I looked all over when I went in last week.

It has already been stated, but I will say it again...If you don't see the "no firearms" sign, you aren't breaking any laws by carrying there (excluding CC in PFZ's).

BWW in Newport News

I guess I should have paid better attention to previous posts about his place. Three officers and myself got back from the gun show and decided to get some wings. When we seen the big sign on the door saying "no guns allowed" we were all shocked. On of my buddies went inside and asked for the manager and asked him about the sign. He said "it does not apply to you guys". My friend said "the hell it doesn't, I am not eating in a place that discriminates against lawful CCW holders". He then said we are going to go back to our departments and tell every officer to avoid this place. The managers jaw dropped as we walked out. He followed up to the parking lot explaining that it does not apply to officers. We all looked at him and said "it is discrimination, and we will not stand for it. We will take ours and others officers business elsewhere". We left with a big grin on our faces as he was still in the parking lot. That is their loss...We are never going back until they change policy...

How about this thought?: Learn some self defense. You don't have to become an uber ninja to protect yourself, all a person needs to do is learn a half dozen or so basic techniques and become proficient at them. No, you will not be able to defend yourself against a person with a gun but you will be able to inflict harm (massive if needed) to a person that is attacking without a weapon. The key here is to become proficient. That means practicing the techniques enough that they will become muscle memory. When the shit goes down you will not have to think about what technique to use, you will just respond to the situation at hand. Also, people that know how to defend themselves are more confident and that will show in your body language/posture should an aggressor be eyeing you up as a target. Criminals do not want a challenge, they want the easiest score possible so they only target what they perceive to be the weak.

I am available in Bay City if anyone wants to learn a few techiques and how to apply them, PM me if you are interested. No, I'm not charging anything, I just enjoy this crap.

Carrying at buddy

Not a gun owner. I like to wheel. As a gun owner you have rights guaranteed by the constitution. The guy that owns the Bundy Hill Park also has rights. He makes the rules on his property for those who visit just like I could do here at my place. Not going to a park because they have a rule about firearms? Awesome idea, we have what maybe 6 areas that we can wheel in without fear of being harassed by the DNR? Yeah good idea lets make this guy go out of business cause we have a difference of opinion. Come on we need to support our parks. I am sure there are many things that we won't agree on, but we should agree that we need to support our off road parks or soon there will be no place to go and legally wheel.

Like a couple of guys mentioned legally stow it away in your parked vehicle that way you can carry to and from the park. That way everyone can have their cake and eat it too.

It's my personal observation that many people that insist on carrying a gun everywhere they go are not really carrying the gun for personal protection as much as they like/need/crave the feeling of power it gives them. Since these people are beta types, if they do not have their gun, they are now intimidated by those that surround them. Onceagain, just my personal observation.

I did not read the rest because the fact of the matter is I have my own opinion to why you're whining.
I will continue to respect peoples business rules to enjoy offroading.

ps. If any park has a rule about carrying a pocket knife I will make a new thread of my own!!!! :teehee:

It is private property without public access. You have to be allowed in no different than your own home. Maybe I will choose to still wheel there and carry. Not about to post something like that on a public forum.
If I owned Bundy Hill I would ban this a-hole for advocating carrying a gun at an organization that has clearly posted the rules.

:sonicjay: You post those like they are new to me

How long did it take for you to look those up? :sonicjay:

My point, and my only point, has been that you made a hasty generalization about gun owners, based on anecdote.

Now, if your standard of evidence is only anecdote, than by all means, make your judgement, but I happen to have a higher standard of evidence.

Now if that point is lost on you, thats not my problem; and I surely have not attempted to "make myself look intelligent" as I am sure that only one of us have ever actually studied logic and their name doesn't end in uggets.

Now that you have wasted quite a bit of time researching logical fallacies, to what end I have no idea, and worked yourself into an obvious tizzy (as evidenced by your presumed google search and paste of "logical fallacies"), enjoy your evening.
