Once again, the What Lies Beyond Jeep Club will be set up in the Pavilion at the Mounds on Thanksgiving Day collecting canned food and money to help the Eastern Michigan Food Bank!
Last year we collected a whopping 300Lbs of food!
With each dollar raised, the Eastern Michigan Food Bank can buy $14 worth of food for families in need!
So if you plan on doing some Thanksgiving Day Wheeling, drop by the Pavilion at the Mounds and help us help families in this desperate time!
Oh! and we will have hot coffee and coco, as well as some goodies to munch on!
ill just have my lifted black excursion. taking the wife and kids out to watch others play. so if anyone breaks between the hours of 8-11 and need a tow back to the parking lot dont hesitate to ask.
Woods rock course was SLIMEY!!!! Winch fest to say the least. Didn't get to try the slab after that. Jeep decided to go to limp mode and broke a steering bolt.
VERY impressed with the work they've done there. :woot:
Saw you stuck in there for a bit. Recognized from your plate "Her Rig"
Ya, it was slimey for sure, couldnt hardly walk on the rocks let along get traction on a jeep.
Fun day tho for sure.
Had fun.
The rock course kicked my ass with all the wet rocks and mud on the tires.
Could not make any progress on the slab.
Day cut short when the alternator quit. Still loaded itself on the trailer at 9 volts.
All I can say is it is an interesting bunch around there. i never expected a crowd that big.
Pic thread should be interesting.
Glad to see all the donations for the hungry.
So did it run after I winched you back on all fours? Had to leave while you were still working on pulling the plugs and it was not as bad as I thought it was gonna be. Ran the woods trail as stated winch fest and no traction. All in all a good day.
I only saw one jeep make it up and over the slab today and I was driving it:rock: The new 5.3 liter liked it but my passengers watched from the sidelines
It was slimy for sure today...but it was fun even though we blew a trailer tire on the way out there. Then tore a small hole in the soft top playing in the hills and valleys...:teehee:
Official count of cash, and all I can say is WOW!! The wheeling community has amazed me once again! With the help of all of you, we managed to raise $469.85, and a boat load of canned goods (amount will be posted after it gets weighed). To everyone who came out and showed their support, THANK YOU!!!!!!! The Eastern Michigan Food Bank is able to leverage $1 into $16 of food to help families in need, that means that today, we (as the wheeling community) were able to provide families in need with over $7,500 dollars worth of food! It makes me proud to call myself an off-road enthusiast after a day like today!
Thanks again for the support, and thanks for a fun filled day of safe responsible wheeling! Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless!
For those that are not following the thread on Facebook, we received $100 after we packed up thata got us to $469.85, then someone else donated $30.15 to round the amount to an even $500. WLB will be matching the donation from Michigan Wheelers to make the total $600 (plus food) for this year. Thanks to everyone that donated!
238 pounds of food delivered to the Food Bank of Eastern MI, plus Nancy Edwards called from The Mounds today, they have another $20 that was donated after we left. Thank you all for your support!
