Hey guys, newbie here to the Zuk world. I'm wondering what everyone is running for tire pressures on/off road. It's an 88 Samurai, mild lift, front/rear bumper, winch, 31 inch PJ dirt grips on 8 inch rims. Thanks.

With me in it, and a full tank of gas, I'm assuming I'm somewhere around 2500-2700 lbs. Still haven't checked on a scale yet. I'm assuming 8-10 is for offroad. What about a good and safe pressure for daily driving duties? I have them at 25 now and it feels like I'm driving a rock. Just don't want to go too low on the DD side. Thanks.

I run my rigs around 16 lbs for the street( around town) unless Im going on a long trip then 20lb. lower if needed off road. I go down to 6-10at the dunes and closer to 6 for snow wheelin .and Ive never had a bead come off but I think my rims are narrow I played with different pressure's when I first got my rig road ready and16 seems to be a good pressure(for me anyways ) for the samura'is(5)Ive had too. If I run much lower on the road It feels a little squishsy more than 16 kind like the afore mentioned rock. mabee just play with it till ya find that magic number

<<<<<<<<<<16lbs<<<<

Thanks everyone. I'm not too concerned about the gas mileage. It's a weekend warrior/fun machine. I'm just looking for a safe, comfortable range to be in without having to worry about losing a bead. I guess I have some experimenting to do, starting with 20 and working my way down....

For on road, best way is to do the chalk test... Basically find a flat area of pavement or concrete rub chalk across the tread... Drive in a straight line and see where the chalk where's off the most... Lower the pressure if it wears more in the middle, or increase the pressure if it wears more on the outside edges...

I'll try that, someday. Aired down to 10 just to check it out last night. Loved it for creeping thru the woods. Also went and weighed my rig today. At 2900 lbs even with me in it, 1.6L tracker motor, a full tank of gas, front/rear bumper with winch, no top, aluminum half doors, bare bones tools, recovery gear, and a spare tire. I don't know if the scale is 'certified' or not, ran it over to the local Waste Management center.
