Today the worlds fastest harrier jump jet popped in along with its L-39 chase plane. Also, we get over flow from one of out customers on the field that does work on P-51s so I got to play with 4 of them.
When I was in the Marines abord the Saipan, Kearsarge, and Belleau Wood, we use to go up to the flight deck and watch the Harriers take off and land for hours... not much else to do when you are in the middle of the ocean.
Got to ride in Yankee Lady (B17) for the trip to Ludington on the 3rd of July. Buddy (AKA Lucky Bastard) got to right right seat and log .5 hours of B-17 dual. They had a chip detector trip on the 2nd trip on the 4th. Had to give back about $15K worth of prepaid flights. Bad for them. Had a great fly over to open the grand parade in Ludington.
They are coming in for maintenance from Roush but because they are all wanting maintenance done before Oshkosh, they are coming in to fast for Roush's guys to get to them so they spend a few nights in our hangar because he can only fit 5 at a time in his hangar.
If you can let me know what you find. Kinda would like to let the others know why it went down. Lots of old timers meet at the airport in the AM to tell lies and laugh. They were all prety sad when we got the news she had a sick horse. Was it the same engine they had the cowl flap issues with? Does it still have all 4 Wright engines?
there was one of these at AvFlight up in flint last week i beleive..
I work for bishop maint. dept so we see alot of cool shit...pretty much 2 times a week we'll see a kc135,c17 and a10's...them a10's are something to watch thats forsure
No. But if you have the millions it takes to own not just one but 2 of them, you have enough money to have a 2 seat chase plane to follow you around to take pictures and have a ride home while you leave it for an airshow if you want.
this is a rich man's dream hangar. 2 G-550s, a P-51D, and the A-36A. There will be a bunch of pictures this week and the air show is this weekend coming up.

Next time I have a cross country flight, I will have to fly to Willow and get some fuel from you.
