I've been researching for a hot minute trying to find the best overall value. I'd like to build as much of it as possible myself to save coin. I'd like to use my hand held plasma torch and build either a 4x4 or 4x8 table.
Has anyone pieced together gantry/motors/tracks/ect?
I found some great deals on motors, drivers, and software but that's about it in the deal dept.
I've been reading a lot on there. Now I'm leaning a little more toward buying a turnkey setup. Reading a lot of reviews so I can make an educated decision.
Yeah but I'm looking for a bigger table the more I thought about it the more a bigger table makes sense. I have plenty of space and ill be able to make more $ in the long run with a larger setup
do you have the capability to move around larger pieces of metal? the idea of a 4x8 plasma table is great, until you have to move a 4x8 sheet of 3/8" alone... then it sucks.
CandCNC has great electronics setups, get a THC from them. I have built two very good tables thus far. CNC Router parts has reduction drives and linear carriages. Hypertherm plasmas are great and hookup very quickly to any CNC setup. If you have any questions, please ask.
TAB - do you have any pics of the roller table? I have been wanting to develop one for my 4x8
pic didn't link for some reason. It is on my profile here if you want to see it
