Sometime late last summer I was talking to Jim about modding his jeep and it snowballed and somehow I got in the middle of it. before I knew what was going on I agreed to build his jeep over again pretty much. The goal was lots of strength and a nice cushy ride while providing clearance for 40's in the future.
hmmmm... $4500 to get one here versus the donor tub that I already own. I think a new donor tub with boat sides and cleaner body mounts is where it's at.
No issues Nick. To be honest I didn't do enough hard wheeling. I was kinda surprised at how there is so much hype about jack and sledge and we pretty much walked them both. Now if I had run Outer Limits my answer may be different.
I don't want you to go feeling special or anything so maybe I should delete that post....I didn't even know you had a build thread until now, I rarely go anywhere besides the club section and for sale section anymore.
Well I don't want to run the stickies on the road so I have kept my Iroks. Since the Iroks will see sand and snow, I don't think my old steel beadlocks are quite as important. I had an old set of 5 on 4.5 rims 15 x 12 that I ran when I was just doing sand. So I bored them out to fit over the D60 hubs, indexed them and put a 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern, wet sanded them up and here they are.
I am now 86 1/4" OAW so I should be pretty stable. LOL
Holy shit that's wide! Now you can eat all the ice cream you want at the dunes and don't have to worry about the jeep flopping over on its side when you get back in. :sonicjay:
Yeah, I already asked him but I think he's 99% skeered. :sonicjay:
