Last year, I picked up a Scrambler from another memeber on the board. More or less a turnkey rig.

1983 Scrambler, Dana 44s front and rear with 4.10s, discs
37" pitbulls on weld on beadlocks
Fuel injected 258, TF999, and Dana 300

Its done well for us so far, mostly running Drummond island with my 5yr old son. Starting this year, my wife and other son (2.75 yr old) will come on trails, and evetually my daughter as well (she's only 5mo old right now). So I'm going to be cleaning up the Jeep, making it more reliable, more family friendly, etc.

Holy hell I just read this build thread from start to finish. I've been through such a whirlwind of emotions. I started reading all excited since I've been throwing around the crazy idea of buying a scrambler, dropping a 5.3 in it, then switching my CJ gear over. Then I get to the second to last page and saw the plot twist to parting it out, and just about fell out of my chair. Great work from last year though. Tons of info if I wind up making the jump myself. Since I'm late getting to the party on this thread- any updates now that it's almost a year later? Scrambler fully gone? XJ built yet?

Sorry, yeah, the Scrambler is gone. The problem with a few of the recent builds has been the family, work, and club situation keep changing.

Anyway, the XJ is done since February, I made sure not to do a build thread on it, or I'd have never finished it, hehehe. It works well as a family wheeler, 3" lift on 32x9.5 swampers, lockers, winch bumper, nothing too fancy. $2500 total into it right now.

I took the summer off wrenching, to work on my house, and am trying to get a pole barn built before the snow.

A lot of the stuff from scrambler is going into my CJ6, which I will be working on this winter (hopefully in the pole barn, or else my small garage). I got a TJ frame that I cut and lengthen to 101" wheelbase for it. Its getting no lift, a cammed LS3, KillerB build 700R4, full time AWD, targetting sand use and 11 second quarters.

If I see us getting out enough to use it, I still have the flatfender that I started a few years ago, and would like to finish it. 37 yr old dad of 3, with a busy job requiring international travel, its tough to find time.
