well as some of you know i got in an accident leaving the blessing in my tj.

what the jeep has done to it
-32 11.5 15 bfg mt's on steel d windows
-2.5 inch rough country progressive spring lift
-front bumper from tab
-mile marker winch

what it needs to run again
-front axle
-front control arms
-1 new tire (dropped it off today so that is pretty much done)
-steering gear box (i have one just have to install it)

purchases so far
-front d30
-4:10 gears to mach front axle
-d35 detroit locker
-new 32" bfg mud terrain
-rough country long arm kit
-one inch motor mount lift
-antirock front sway bar
-1 3/4 die for bender
-1 1/4 die for bender

the insurance company gave me 3300 dollars for the damages. i really dont want to go with bigger lift or tires at this time since i am planning on putting d60's and 39.5's on it with some stretch at some point in the future.

so i need some advise on spending the rest of my money! i am thinking about gears and lockers for my axles to get me by til i get everything ready to go big! what the hell should i buy?:beerbang::beerbang::beerbang::woot::brilliant

Got the ram mount all mocked up.

I will pull it all off the axle to finish weld and I will get the axle all cleaned up before I weld the truss to it.

Beejers ordered me a couple more sticks of 1.75 .120 wall so I got some more tube work today. I also got started on my front upper link mounts.

I took next week off so I'm hoping to have the rear sitting under its own weight with the 16" air shocks. I need to get the rest of my joints and front coilovers before I can get the front buttoned up.

:sonicjay: it seems like a nice guy like yourself would just come do it for me while I supervise and drink beer! I took a vicodin and when my Mac n cheese is done I am going to go try again! Spending 3 hours trying to get that starter installed on the relic probably didn't help....

Front is all mocked up. Pinion changes .4* through the 16" of travel. All the clearance looks good. I think I am going to move my mounts a little to get the joints at better angles throughout their travel but other than that I am happy with it. With the axle flexed out it stays perfectly centered under the chassis side to side also.

I got the word today that I am heading to Colorado in a month for work. I won't be back til December-ish. It will suck not being able to work on the buggy but I will be able to order lots of parts. The rocksolid performance guys are going to love me for about 8 months :sonicjay: at least when I get home it should make for a quicker finish up on the build since I will have all the parts sitting there. I'm hoping to get the suspension/ link mounts fairly well buttoned up and the main part of the chassis done by the time I leave. I'm going to be bummed being in Colorado without anything to wheel though.

I have a few questions I'm hoping somebody can help me out with.

- how much can I angle front coilovers back and have them still work properly? I am planning on using 2.0 16" long PAC remote res shocks.

- i am going to run air bumps and if they are mounted inboard from the shocks am I concerned about the shock being completely collapsed and not being stopped by the bumps when it is flexed out or am I only worrying about a straight up hit like you would get from jumping it?

-right now I am at about 116" wb and for packaging purposes I would like to go a little longer. Should I stretch it out any more or just deal with 116? I will have a belly height of around 22".

- I am figuring 6" of up travel and 10" of droop is that a good mark to shoot for or should I give more or less up travel?

Thanks in advanced!

It isn't mounted yet, it is just sitting there. I am going to try to squeeze it in there if I can but if not I will put it in the back. Gordy, one of the owners of rocksolid performance, has his mounted like that in his "brush buster" buggy and it seems to work fine. When I get the hood mocked up I will see if I have enough room.
