working on a small resto on my uncles truck. the body is mint shape and runs great. hasnt been moved in 15 years. he wants to make it street runner again and that means new axles or brakes. he has it in his head to replace the axles and run disk's all around. im ok with that as well since they old set up is not off the shelf parts.

the truck is a 2 wheel drive.

the rear looks like a full floater big 5 lug dana 60.

if i were to go about replacing the the axles i would need new rims and tires. not that big of deal since they are wasted anyhow with no spair rim for the truck. i would like to get some newer axles in the truck with spair off the shelf parts.

being the truck is 2 wheel drive what front axle beam should i use?

someone was telling him a mid 80s chevy axle would bolt right in. i dont wanna do that as it would have to be a 4x4 axle in a 2wd truck.

what axle beam should i go about using to get newer parts at a affordable price?

what about making a front axle out of tubing and putting the inner C's and knuckles from another axle?

open to ideas here guys. give me some input please
